RESUMEN
Garry Steinberg (jefe de Libby) la llamó por teléfono para decirla que hacía tiempo que Lyle Abernathy (el novio de Libby) fue a esa empresa porque quería trabajar allí, en la parte de seguridad, y dejó su currículum. En él se decía que Lyle trabajó anteriormente para una empresa de cerrajería. Garry llamó al dueño de la empresa, un tal Fears, y éste le contó que Lyle sólo trabajó 8 meses allí porque robaba dinero de las casas donde trabajaba. Eso hizo pensar a Kinsey que Lyle pudo entrar en casa de Laurence y de Libby sin problemas.
Después la llamó Gwen Fife, porque quería comer con ella para contarla cosas de la aventura que tuvo con un hombre (y cuando Laurence se enteró decidió divorciarse de ella). Aquel hombre era David Ray y fue profesor de Greg en el instituto. Hacía poco que Gwen se enteró de que Ray murió de un ataque al corazón. No tenía ningún valor para Kinsey, pero Gwen vivió momentos muy felices con Ray y no quería él se viera implicado en una investigación que no tenía nada que ver con él. A pesar de ello, Kinsey tuvo la sensación de que Gwen la llamó para contarla algo más y que, finalmente, no se atrevió a decirlo.
Por la tarde estuvo en casa de Nikki otra vez; quería hablar con Colin sobre la confusión que tuvo con la foto de Gwen. Después de mucho insistir, Colin afirmó que Gwen estuvo una vez en la casa de Laurence, un fin de semana que Nikki tuvo que marcharse para cuidar a su padre, que estaba enfermo. La confundió con una mujer mayor, porque Gwen tenía canas.
Scorsoni cuidaba de la casa y de los perros de John Powers (su nuevo compañero de trabajo tras la muerte de Laurence) cuando éste estaba viajando. Invitó a Kinsey a ir a casa de Powers para cenar allí. Una vez en la casa, Kinsey empezó a hacerle preguntas sobre la investigación, pero a Scorsoni no le sentó bien. La velada no terminó bien; Kinsey ni si quiera se quedó a cenar.

Garry Steinberg (Libby’s boss) called Kinsey to tell her that, some years ago, Lyle Abernathy (Libby’s boyfriend) went to the company because he wanted to work in the part of security. Garry was searching about him and he discovered that Lyle was locksmith and he worked in a company for 8 months, but he was dismissed by Fears (his boss) because Lyle used to steal money in the houses where he worked. Immediately, Kinsey thought that Lyle could open Laurence’s house and poisoned the medicine, and do the same with Libby.
Then, Gwen Fife called her because she wanted to tell her the affair that she had with her lover. He was David Ray and was Greg’s teacher. He died some months ago by a heart attack. Before, Gwen didn’t want to say anything because she had beautiful moments with him, and she didn’t want that Kinsey damaged it with her investigation. It wasn’t important for Kinsey, but she thought that Gwen wanted to say something more but she couldn’t.
Kinsey visited Nikki again. She wanted to talk with Colin about his mistake with the photo of Gwen, the last day. In a first moment, Colin didn’t want to say anything, but then he recognized that Gwen was in Laurence’s house a weekend whilst Nikki was outside with her ailing father. Colin thought that Gwen was his grandmother because she had grey hair.
Scorsoni used to check and feed the dogs of John Powers (the new Scorsoni’s workmate after Laurence died) when he was out and travelling. Scorsoni invited Kinsey to had the dinner in Power’s house that night. When we were there, Kinsey started to make question for her investigation, and Scorsoni got angry for that. The night wasn’t good; Kinsey returned to her house before the dinner.
ACTIVIDADES
1. Gwen tells Kinsey that Colin last saw her at Diane’s junior high school graduation. Kinsey doesn’t believe her. Why not? Because in the Diane’s graduation Colin was 14 months old; he was a baby and he couldn’t remember Gwen.
2. Kinsey remembers something that Charlotte Mercer has told her. What was it? And how might Colin’s answer help Kinsey’s investigation? Mercer told her that “Laurence Fife often fell in love with the same woman twice”. Colin said that Gwen was in the house one time when Nikki was gone; it seems that Laurence had an affair with Gwen.
